Emily Howe, Esq. works on cases of public interest and access to rights in San Diego, California. She assists socially conscious individuals, start-ups, and non-profits in navigating the complex legal world and accessing their legal rights. Her career has focused on access to litigation, transactional counsel, and general legal services, including wrongful death-catastrophic injuries, workplace fairness, civil rights of adopted orphans of U.S. citizen parents and military families, trusts-estates, and legal options that further access to justice.
Prior to law school, Attorney Howe proudly served as a U.S. Peace Corps in West Africa. During her legal training, she worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable John S. McCann of the Massachusetts Superior Court, promoted peace building initiatives at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice, received the CALI award and High Pass Honors at the University of San Diego School of Law's Immigration Clinic, and provided legal services to nonprofits through an Equal Justice Works/AmeriCorps opportunity.
Currently, she serves as a Board of Director of the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD), Co-Chair of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA)'s Asian American Adoptee Affinity Network (AAAN), incorporator/founding member of San Diego Asian American Legal Education Fund (SDAALEF) and an active member of legal and community organizations such as the Honorable William B. Enright Inn of Courts, La Jolla Bar Association, Lawyers Club, South Asian Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association's inaugural leadership academy, American Bar Association's Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy and Returned Peace Corps Associations. She gained bar admissions in California, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, as well as the Southern and Central District Courts in California, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits and U.S. Supreme Court.
